January 2025 via de la plata

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I walked this year February to march and it was cold, with a lot of crossings flooded. I walked a lot of road as a result. The days are still short. Careful planning is needed in some longer stretches.

Did it from Seville a couple of years ago starting on 25th Jan. Dry and bright for almost all of the route to Caceres. The main issue was cold overnight in some of the accommodation as they were somewhat parsimonious with the heating. Mornings were frosty too but had the right clothing with me.

Surprisingly there were others ahead of me though I never got to meet them. I think @Bradypus was on the route about the same time.

Go for it.

I walked in January and February 2022. No major problems but it did get pretty chilly with some snow on the Sanabres section near Lubian and A Gudina. You do need to be prepared with warm clothing and a good quality sleeping bag. Some sections may be longer than most people find comfortable. Also worth bearing in mind that day length in January is pretty short.

Ah! I have fond memories of this location. It's the entrance to the Natural Parc Sierra Norte de Sevilla. Took cover for the rain in that little building. When dry again I went into the parc and decided to spend the night in this beautiful area. Although I had to hide from the parc ranger ;) I set up my little tent behind the building near the Fuente del Peregrino. Had myself a lovely cup of self made coffee, ate some of the chocolate bar my love send along with me and hit the sack. Took of again during first daylight and spotted some deers. 😍IMG_2941.webp20240430_193757.webp20240430_185225.webp
