Invitation from the Irish Society:

We are delighted to announce that we have arranged a splendid afternoon of talks on El Camino on SATURDAY, 24TH NOVEMBR AT 2:00PM IN WYNNES HOTEL, DUBLIN. .

The speakers will be JOHN BRIERLEY, who is known to many of you as the author of three extremely useful and popular guides to the Camino, namely the guides to the Caminos Frances, Portugues and Finisterra.
He will address both the inner spiritual path and the practical aspects of the journey.

In addition, there will be an illustrated talk by COLM BAMBURY on the Camino Chorca Dhuibhne which took place in May when 29 people set out in the Jeanie Johnston to La Coruna. From there they walked to
Santiago de Compostela. We sincerely hope you can join us for an interesting and enjoyable afternoon.

Please note that the talks are open to all. Indeed this is an opportunity for you to introduce your friends to the Camino, especially those that have expressed an interest in travelling on the Camino at some time in the
future.

Finally, a brief note to all current members that our annual dinner will be held on the 26th January 2008. We will send you full details of venue and cost later.

Looking forward to meeting you at one or both of these gatherings.

Yours sincerely

James P. Galvin

TG4 , an Irish TV channel, will show a programme on this, towards end of December. I think it may be Dec. 29th.

Edited 18 Dec; I've looked at TV listings and can't locate documentary details :(
apologies if you've noted it in your diary.

Edit 20 Dec; me again! I 've just seen documentary will be screened on Sat 29th Dec. @ 10:15pm.
Perhaps I'll mention this in a new thread.

Brian

You mention the TG4 documentary screened last December re the pilgrimage to Santiago from Dingle on the Jeanie Johnson. I'm trying to locate a dvd of this programme. I would appreciate any help.

Thank you

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Pat, I've copied & pasted the other post I made regarding this programme below. Irish TV stations don't usually make DVDs available for sale etc. You could try contacting TG4 and see if they have any plans to screen it again.
As a matter of interest, the Jeanie Johnson did a similar trip twice this year. Sailed from Dublin on bank holiday monday in August and from Waterford or Wexford earlier in the year. So why not hire the boat yourself.

Buen Camino,
Brian

TG4, an Irish television station will screen a short documentary on this trip undertaken last May.
The group sailed from Dingle in south west of Ireland to La Coruna over 4 days and then walked some of the route to Santiago.

Thanks brian for taking the time to reply.

Will contact TG4

A Small group of us did seven days on the Camino 4 years ago.
Maybe one day we'll go there on the Jeanie Johnson!
