Insect repellant

Should I be packing insect repellant for Camino Frances during Sept? Or is that something I could leave at home to decrease pack weight? It is such a challenge to determine what are necessities. Would appreciate any advice from you veterans. Must add this Forum is excellent and somewhat addictive. Maggie

IMHO leave the insect repellant at home and if you find the odd mosquito but some in Spain

Must add this Forum is excellent and somewhat addictive.

When I arrive in Spain, I go to the nearest Farmacia and buy a pump spray insect repellent to spray on the BEDS of the albergue, to check for bedbugs.

If that's not a concern for you, then leave it at home.
I haven't seen many mosquitoes in Spain.
Portugal, however, is another matter - they kept me up nightly with dive bombing tactics!

I use sunblock with DEET in it!! I have a 2 oz. stick applicator.
