Industrias no Camino

Join the Camino cleanup. Logroño to Burgos May 2025 & Astorga to OCebreiro in June
Hi Sil, do you speak Spanish? If so, could you tell us briefly what the video was about. From what I gathered, they are either clearing land to make a better path for the camino? or they are creating a new diversion? or are people against the camino cutting through some heritage wilderness? I imagine all the above are wrong :)
It was interesting though to look at it.
BTW - some of the people had rain jackets on that went over their packs and over them with sleeves and hats. Has anyone used one of these? They look like the Packa that is from America? I would be intersted to know how people have found them as a friend and I are keen to order them.
thanks for the video post Sil,
cheers, Jane

Hi, Janeh

The video is made to protest the construction of a industrial polygon ON the Camino, very close the airport of Lavacolla, near Santiago.

It was filmed during a TV program about this disaster about three weeks ago.

Pilgrims are not against the construction of the polygon, but it can made it in other place, not over the Camino.

Buen Camino,

Javier Martin
Madrid, Spain.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
thanks Javier.
I am very hopeful that by the time I get on my camino I will be able to understand spanish and especially be able to chat to the locals I meet along the way. I begin intensive spanish lessons soon. cheers, jane
