I arrived in Oviedo yesterday. A few questions/problems hopefully I can get help with.
1. Are there any English speaking pilgrims in Oviedo currently? Would love to be able to have a conversation.
2. Looking for cheap trekking poles and a scallop shell. Not having any luck finding either. Recommendations?

Hi Bonnie Grace
Decathlon City Calle Uria Oviedo for cheap walking poles.
You can look at their Website Decathlon Oviedo for directions.

There is also Forum Sport. They are both very close to each other. I noticed on their website they were selling poles for about 30 Euros a pair. I always buy cheap poles and that is a good price for a pair of poles.
To find a shell I would go to the Cathedral. I would be very surprised if they did not have shells and credentials. Then I would check Gronze.com to get the address of the Pilgrim albergue and try them.
There is also the Friends of the Camino Association called:
Asociación Astur-Leonesa de Amigos del Camino. You can google the address

The albergue below has credentials so I bet they have stamps too.

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).
Technically a pilgrim receives the shell in Santiago when they completed their pilgrimage.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Unfortunately, I will not be posting anything in the forum or FB or email. I want peace and tranquility on this pilgrimage. I "might" look at the forum, but probably not. Sorry

I hear that the Decathlon store has the poles - it’s near the camino route.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
