Arrived this morning and completed the formalities. Spoke to a number of Peregrinos who had arrived earlier and, like me, they were surprised by the lack of clear waymarking into the city from the Portugese route - an assistant at 'Turismo' commented that "it has been mentioned before". Fortunately, a good sense of direction and conversational Spanish helped but is perhaps something the Junta de Galicia/turismo should look at.
Didn't detract from the pleasure of having fulfilled a long-held ambition. Thanks to various Forum contributors who provided advice from their personal experiences.
