How to Make Waterproof Shower Cap Shoe Covers or Gaiters

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Not bad for over the top and toe area. Now, I need an idea to stop the rain getting in the sides of the shoes! Anne

I am playing with idea to use simple hospital/construction plastic cover shoes, then duck tape around the shoes. The sole will rip off pretty fast, but duck tape should keep it in place... I don't know.... I am confused... I absolutely hate walking in wet shoes, but I also don't like waterproof shoes....

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I like the idea and am going to play with it as well. My focus is on diverting the runoff from my rain pants, which tends to soak my "waterproof" boots. I've looked at gaiters but they don't look effective enough for that purpose to warrant the weight and bother.

Hey Travellover!! Hope we see you on the 31st of May!! (check on the Events Tab/Calendar!) But...back to the topic on the thread..I think this is freaking brilliant! Somewhere on the FB APOC page I think I posted pics of my feet on the Camino Portuguese! Truly hideous and all but I wound up using...plastic bags!! mismatched to boot! One green one white. Really one of my finer moments! I'd stepped off the road into nearly shin deep muck! I dried my feet at the next tiende and put on dry socks, then the bags and after draining my sloppy wet and muddy shoes, put them back over everything. It kept my feet dry and warm and no blisters!! It was odd feeling but it worked ok for the day. This is a terrific, cheap and most importantly...light weight option. Certainly worth having a look at it while your still here at home. I think if you don't pull it too far over the foot it might actually wear pretty well. I will definitely be giving this a try.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
