I would like to know how to get to St Jean from Our Lady of Lourdes. Do I need to buy train tickets ahead in advance or should I buy on the day? We will leave US and get into Lourdes on May 6, 2017 and want to get to St. Jean on May 7 and start the walk on May 8 but stop at Orisson one night before continue to Roncesvalles to make the first three days a little easier or should we rest some more days? Should I get the travel insurance on Medical and which provider you would recommend. My husband and I plan to walk the Camino Frances from May 8 to June 10 this year. Any suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
SNCF train from Lourdes to Bayonne.

SNCF train from Bayonne to SJPdP.

There are several trains daily so worst case is you have to wait for the next. Some of the service is TER train for which there is no advantage in purchasing in advance.

Yes you should have travel insurance. A bad incident could otherwise wipe you out for life.

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

I think travel insurance will give me a peace of mind and hope for a safe travel. Thank you for your time.

I am doing the same thing, leaving the states on Monday, arriving to Lourdes on June 12th. How did your trip go? Did the train pan out? There's a train strike so I'm thinking of a bus alternative.
