Train (Renfe) from Chamartin Station in Madrid to Sarria. Several trains a day. Some direct and some require a connection.

Hi @saara kinnunen, I was going to say “welcome to the forum” but then I noticed you have been a member since 2016. I guess you’re used to members humour.

Flying into Madrid in October the train is likely your best solution for the onward journey. Flights into Santiago are getting scarce by then. The RENFE website isn’t the most helpful ever built. It will probably just show one train per day. But if you search trains to Ourense and then trains Ourense to Sarria you’ll get more options. Trains to Lugo and buses from there might work as well. Don’t search for October: RENFE will tell you there are no trains. Search for next month to give you an idea of timetables and possibilities

Happy planning

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).
There is one direct train from Madrid daily. Others will connect and transfer at Ourense. You can also fly into Santiago and take a bus either direct (one daily) or connect in Lugo yo Sarria. Monbus is the bus company.
