Camino Del Norte + Camino Primitivo in the summer of 2016
Hello fellow pilgrims and pilgrims to be!

Me and my soul mate arrived in Santiago September 2015. Now we are planning walking del Norte in 2016. How long did it take for you to walk to Santiago? How many days? I see that the route splits in two on the last what, 300 km maybe, to Santiago. Which is the more beautiful and which is the fastest? Is del Norte cheaper than Frances?

I hope you're all feeling great!

Much love from Scandinavia.

Hi @Skandinaviangirl we took a bit under six weeks to walk the Norte from Irun to Santiago. I am not sure what you mean by a split in the last 300km - we followed the standard route (not the Camino Primitivo).

I think prices are about the same as on the Francés.

The Norte is the one that runs closer to the coast before getting inland and joining the Francés in Arzúa.

The split you see on the map is a liaison between the Norte and the Primitivo plus the Primitivo itself what it's a bit shorter than continuing on the Norte. The Primitivo starts in Oviedo and joins the Francés in Melide. You can find plenty of info (and fans) about the Primitivo on the forum.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
