Hi could anyone give me information about walking the Portuguese coastal route from Baiona to Sdc .... Is it possible to have luggage transfer all the way? I don't want to stay in hostels would prefer hotels and good central locations as I will be on my own and will appreciate the hussle and bussle of an evening and good selection of tapas bars/restaurants? Apreciate any info! Bernie

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Hi Bernie, welcome to the forum!
You could try TuiTrans for baggage transfer.
This is their website:

Hi: Here is a list of the hotels I stayed in last summer on that part of the route -

Baiona - Anunciada Baiona
Vigo - Hotel Compostela Vigo
Redondela - Hotel Santa Apostolo (4km past Redondela)
Pontevedra - Hotel Ruas
Caldas de Reis - O Cruceiro Centre
Padron - Rosalia Padron
SdC - Hospederia San Martin Pinario

All were good. I had no complaints about any of them. As noted, Hotel Santa Apostolo is not centrally located in Redondela, but it is in a nice location a bit further down the trail.

Enjoy your journey!

I hope to walk the Portuguese Coastal next April, but have decided to carry my own backpack, mainly due to cost.
These guys provide all you need - hotel accommodation, and transfer of backpack.
Buen camino!

Hi Stephen thanks for that info .... I have booked all my accomodation now myself so its just luggage transfers to sort out! I assumed they would not be too expensive !!! Are they? Bernie

Might I suggest the Pac Mochila service from Correos when in Spain.
They were extremely helpful, professional and less expensive that some of the others.
Buen Camino.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
not sure what towns you are staying at between Baiona and Santiago but here´s my list. I too travelled alone.
Vigo - Hotel Puerta Gamboa - in the old town and run by a lovely family. Best fish dinner ever!
Redondela - Hotel Santo Apostal already mentioned
Caldas de Rei - Torre de Rio - out of the town a couple of km but simply the BEST hotel ever!!! A real treat and one I am so glad I didn't miss. A swim in the pool outside which is part of the river was just amazing.
Padron - Hotel Pazo le Lestrove
I then did a bit of a detour!!!

Just be very careful in restaurants when they place bread on the table, one piece mate from the basket and its on the bill , this cost does add up believe me.

We used Tuitrans from Porto and it was excellent I think 7 euro for 1 bag per stage. Worked out very good. We used hotels and hostels with private rooms and had no trouble finding good central accommodations using booking.com. It was my first time to walk and really enjoyed it.
