Hotels at Barcelona airport

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I spent a few days in Barcelona after my Camino last June...I'm not sure what accomodations are close to the airport....but I know there are a few hostels downtown...I stayed at and would highly reccomend Hostel Somnio http://www.somniohostels.com ....which has dorm beds for 25 euro...they also have single and double rooms,...for a few euros you can take the subway/train from the airport to downtown....trains go every 30 minutes and the trip will take a half hour....if there is more than one of you travelling ...buy one T10 card and share it ...to and from downtown...it costs about 7 euro if I remember correctly..and it is good for 10 trips..hence the name ....I found the train is faster, easier and cheaper than the bus...

Let me know if you need more info...Barcelona is a great city..even if for a few hours!

Hi Marilyn! Planning to take train to Paris after Camino. Can you tell me how you got to Barcelona from Santiago or Finisterre. Will check out the hostel you mentioned. Thanks, Pat.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I note the post is 2009 so I assume Marylin is no longer lurking here ...

Monbus operates buses from Fisterra (Finisterre) to Santiago. The bus has an 'on demand' stop at the Santiago train station.

Renfe operates trains that connect from Santiago to Barcelona Sants. SNCF new fast trains to Paris leave from Sants. Renfe trains to the border at Port Bou leave from Sants. SNCF trains continue from Port Bou.

Renfe operates trains that connect Santiago to Irun. SNCF operates trains from Irun to Paris.

Rail time Santiago via Barcelona to Paris or Santiago via Irun to Paris is approximately the same (using the new high speed connection from Barcelona)

There are flights from Santiago to Barcelona.
