Hoping the Camino Will Provide

My daughter and her friend are trying to get to Oviedo from Madrid tomorrow 16/7/24, and arr finding nothing available. No blablacars, no trains or buses and flights at this point are expensive. Her father and I are waiting in Oviedo as we came in earlier. We had to rent a car one way. Any suggestions? They are at the Hostel Viky tonight and will inquire there. Hoping someone can help. Thank you!

rome to rio indicates there are trains and buses that go on that route

alsa for bus and renfe for trains, edit changed date and less trains all of a sudden, bus looks best

BlaBlaCar shows several cars going from Madrid to Oviedo on July 16. They get posted and filled regularly, so it’s worth it to look more than just one time

It looks as if the RENFE website is having one of its little moments. It is highly likely, not guaranteed, but highly likely that if they made their way to Chamartin now they will be able to buy tickets from one of the ticket machines for the 10:24 or 14:58 trains tomorrow.

Not sure why you suggest the Camino should provide but I would simply rely on Google Directions which say there are heaps of options.

The one way shuttles to Oviedo that are very early( 7-7:30) were very cheap in May , $65 or so . Check Travelocity . Com

Because as we all know "Camino Provides" in many (sometimes mysterious and/or roundabout) ways.
Like, for example, someone suggesting to use Google Directions - something that for a strange reason was not considered prior....

That's real warm and cuddly nice to think this Camino thing is watching over us like our own guardian angel but the reality is those vibes had nothing to do with my use of Google tools, but have a nice Camino

Rome2Rio is good for getting ideas, but its data is almost always wrong on prices, times, etc.
The ideas need to be confirmed by better sources. Consider it a search engine rather than a source in itself.

blablacar.co.uk Sort of like Uber People swear by it. I've never tried it
