Hoka Shoe Owners: Speedgoat 5 or the Bondi 8?

Thanks for your feedback: I wore women's wide, which are supposedly D, though I don't have a wide foot generally and found them too narrow in the taper of the toe box. I only wear injinji liners, which are thin - I've never felt the need to "double-sock". After a week on the trail I found they were pinching my toes, hence my thoughts of trying men's regular or altras. The Speedgoats are perfect in every other way for the Frances , apart from having to add cheap plastic rain covers now and then, which worked exceedingly well. I don't wear insoles, which would make them even narrower.

Go for it. I always buy and wear men's trainers...and I'm definitely not a man . I do, however, have about a 48-50 foot when walking (roughly a man's size 11-11.5 EE.) The heel occasionally slips, so I always try before buying.

I'm heavy and a supinator, too, so shoes don't tend to last the nominal 400 miles for me. Bring 2 pairs if you, like I, can't expect to buy off the shelf. It adds a kilo and a * lot* of space, but better that than bad shoes.
