Time of past OR future Camino
August September 2014
planning to fly into Barcelona from Canada and then find my way to Leon ..
.any suggestions on the best way to get from Barcelona to Leon ?
Secondly when completed - towards the middle of September the most direct route to get from the coast back to Canada
one more question temperatures at that time of year...do I need to consider rain gear?
thanks !

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
Raingear? There are two points of view: Raingear is Overrated; and, Hypothermia is Underrated. As for me, I fall in the latter camp.

Travel:

Take the Renfe train from Barcelona to Leon.

Assuming you have return ticket Canada to Barcelona ... Take the Renfe train from Santiago to Barcelona or fly from Santiago to Barcelona.

Barcelona Airport:

There is a shuttle connecting all terminals.

ALSA bus departs from Barcelona airport T1 and T2.

Rodalies Renfe Cercanius connects from Airport T2 to Barcelona Sants (20 minutes).

Thank you for the suggestion..wondering if there is a direct route back to YYZ after my walk rather than going back to Barcelona?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

If you're flying Air Canada to Barcelona buy a ticket YYZ/BCN and return CDG/YYZ. The Paris/Toronto flight is non-stop. The Vueling flight leaves about noon (you'll find it on Iberia.com) from Santiago to Paris and costs about 80-100 euros depending on the day.

Airports Portugal. Lisbon airport is one of the largest in Europe

Airports in Spain are operated by Aena. Largest airports are Madrid followed by Barcelona.
There are flights from Santiago to London and Paris. There are flights from Coruna to Lisbon.

Probably the easiest way to go is Santiago to London (where there are 5 airports) then transfer by bus to London Heathrow from whence there are several flights to Canada daily.

Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
