What is the best way to go to Leon from Madrid? I have a free time next week till April 14 whic was just drop into my lap I have been thinking to do a short walk for 10 days. Any suggestion? Thanks.

ALSA bus - about 5 a day. 2.5 hours http://www.alsa.es
Train: 6 per day - ± 6 hours http://www.renfe.es

i´d get the train.. if you book in advance there are usually cheap prices and its quick. leaves from madrid charmartin station, slight north of the center, but arrives in central leon and walking distance to albergues,the cathedral and cheap hotels. for train tickets see http://www.renfe.es regards, garry
