The Canadian Company of pilgrims was the first to issue litter bags with their credencials. Then the Confraternity of St James of South Africa also had litter bags printed (with 5 languages) asking people to help keep the camino litter free.
The bags are not very large - about shopping bag size - and 20 000 will be distributed to albergues along the camino this month. Other associations have been asked to help by doing the same thing and so far the response has been very positive.
We have received these pictures from pilgrims who did their bit on the camino Frances last month. You can see one peregrina lifting a can with her walking pole to put in her friend's bag.
