Help! Getting from Barritz to SJPP

Has anyone rented a car from the Biarritz airport to get to SJPP? The Bouricott Express shuttle is full and the train is unreliable with the strike business going on. On Sept 8 we land in Barritz at 11:05am and we need to get to SJPP, check into the pilgrim office and are off to Orisson to stay that night. I know, squeezing a lot in. Any advice?

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
You can get a taxi outside the airport we paid around 8oeuros I hope that helps have a good one

Start worrying around September 5th if the rail strikes are still on-going, and all Biarritz taxi companies are out on strike in sympathy with the oppressed rail-workers (unlikely).

Your itinerary is already pushing the limits of achievability. You should make the 14:52 train, or its Bus replacement with a similar time-table, arriving St J around 15:50. That will leave you with a 3 - 4 hours, depending on how much time you want to spend in the Pilgrims' Office and St Jean itself an on how good you are up-hill. Its only 8 Km but its all up-hill. It's likely you'll miss dinner.

A taxi from the air-port to Orisson would likely work out considerably cheaper than a one-way car-hire even if you could find one.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-

Thanks. I trust it will all work out and a taxi will be available :)

Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
