Hello!

My name is Michael. My friend, John and I will be walking the Camino in December of 2025. We are both first-timers. I'm reading lot's of threads, but I'll probably have some specific questions. We would like to avoid as much urban walking as possible, except for the end of the day, of course. We are also interested in camping where possible. Anyway, Bueno Camino!

There are a few towns where you are walking in urban areas on the Camino Frances. Most people do stay in those towns, too, such as Pamplona, Logroño, Burgos, Leon, Ponferrada, and Santiago. The rest of the pilgrimage is through small villages about every 4 km or so. It is very quaint.

There is a winter Camino website active only in winter. It can help you find beds as many albergues close after mid-October.
You may not enjoy camping in December and some campgrounds may be closed.
