Godesalco site

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I posted the same question this morning...hoping someone out there knows and hoping even more it comes back online!

Most distressing.....The Godesalco site is run by Arturo J. Murias. This is all the information I could find. Perhaps someone can figure out how to reach him from this site:

Of course, you need a Google+ account to message him

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I used it last week but I'm getting an error message since Saturday. Wonder if the server is down for some reason. Hopefully they will discover and fix what's wrong now that the weekend is over.

If the problem is for the server, then most commonly is the money. Ivar should now more about that, but as I know there's a monthly/yearly fee for it. Maybe we could help if that's the reason for closing of Godesalco???

That's a good point.
Has anyone tried to contact Senor Murias?
Ivar, do you know this gentleman?
He has provided such a valuable resource to us, and I agree with KinkyOne - if we can help, I'd like to know how.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
falcon, can you tell me how to donate? I see that it says to donate via paypal, but how would I do that? Thanks.
it is easy if you have a Paypal account.
I am sure the owner of the site puts lots of time to maintain it!

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
For those of us who do not have/want a Paypal account:

Usually there is the opportunity to pay by credit card, as you can when donating to this forum.
I tried this on the godaselco site and it looped me back to Paypal.

I have sent a message to Senor Murias asking how I can donate by credit card.

Sorry for not seeing this earlier...

Yes, the hosting (renting space online for your website) has a monthly or yearly price. The more visitors you have, the more "power" you need and the more expensive it gets. Just renting the server for http://www.caminodesantiago.me/ is over €100/month. I am not sure the costs of running Godesalco, but I am sure Arturo would love some donations :-)

Saludos,
Ivar

Hi all!
I just knew of this thread thanks to a Google Alert. And curiously enough, I learned of the problem with my site a few days ago thanks to another alert sent by Google Webmasters Tools! (So helpful).
Well, it was not a money related problem. For some reason my hosting company had a key file (.htaccess, for those in the know) deleted. Well, turned blank, actually. The thing is that when you make your site rely on this file, it will be unreachable if this file is removed.
Anyway - I fixed it as soon as I could and the site is working again.
Thank you very much for your interest in donating (someone already did and someone asked how to without PayPal - I don't know how, much appreciated anyhow). My costs are lowish, not like those of Ivar's (shared hosting in my case, not great performance), but the few donations I get (about 15 a year, I'd say) just make it possible that I don't have to put money anymore to keep the site online, which is cool!
I'd love to get more routes woorking in the Planner, which is what I assume you'd also like. You'll be the first to know when that happens. BTW, a few months ago, I updated the photo gallery (http://www.godesalco.com/galeria) with the photo selection of all my Caminos - have you checked it out? :-))
Big hugs, lots of luck to Ivar, thanks again, and Buen Camino to you all!!
