trying to find places to stay between Othez and St Jean for early April 2015. Travelling with teenage son. Any thoughts appreciated since its hard to find online. Thanks

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
You would be on the Vezelay route, so you can find accommodations in Sauveterre de Bearn, Saint Palais, Larribar, Uhart, and Ostabat.

It wasn't clear from your post whether you would be hiking or travelling by car but St Palais (Basque country as opposed to other St Palais in France) has a place called La Maison d'Arthezenea and looks to be about half way between Orthez and SJPdeP. Its a chambre d'hôte and had great reviews on trip advisor. Its listed in the Miam Miam Dodo for the Le Puy Route (map 83)..... Haven't stayed there myself but it'd be an option. There are a few more chambre d'hôtes listed as well as hotels... The postcode is 64120 if that helps with your search online...

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Irishgurrrl! We are walking but I'm finding it very difficult getting info on the french side of the Camino. We arrive Tues afternoon in Biarritz and will travel to Othez. It seems as if the le Puy route might have more places to stay than the Vezeley Camino ? Any thoughts ?

Hi there, I'm considering walking from Le Puy to St. Jean next spring if I can get my French up to par. I'm looking on advice on a few things: - Would it be too cool and rainy to start walking...
