Getting to St Pied de Port

I am flying into Paris and am concerned about getting to St. Jean Pied de Port to start my journey. I don't know what train to get on and I am worried about getting a refuge the first night. I leave in 8 days any suggestions or advice?

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Hi jes-teacher,
Welcome to the site! I'm not sure what time you are arriving in Paris but here is the link to French Rail. http://www.voyages-sncf.com/billet-train/resultats?hid=124Y. Although it's in French, it is easy to move through and it should provide you with the schedules from Paris to SJPdP.
As well, here is the link to one of the more popular hostels that most people seem to recommend on this site http://www.espritduchemin.org/English/welcome.html where you can make a reservation if space is still available.
Good luck on your Camino!

Hi There,
Just make sure that you spell the town correctly I nearly got a train ticket to another town as there is more than one St Jean. There are about 4 trains a day to bayonne then on to St Jean de Pied.
Good luck

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
It's Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port -

Do they also call it St. Jean de Pied?

thanks for all who replied! I may now have to fly into Madrid as the flights are changing a little. I am still a little nervous about getting to Saint Jean Pied de Port but after I get there I am confident that I can begin
