Time of past OR future Camino
I plan to start camino tommorrow, and will see how much time it takes to finish it.
Hey! What are the best/cheapest ways how to get from barcelona to Saint Jean pied de porte? I read some of the Forums but prices have raised since 2005.
Is there anyone who just traveled from barcelona?
Maybe there is someone who is going to camino tommorrow?
Thanks!

I am also trying to get to SJPdP from Barcelona, in October when there will be no bus from Pamplona. However I found that Alsa does run buses from Roncessvalles to SJPdP daily, even in October.....the problem is to get to Roncesvalles from Barcelona. Any suggestions there ?

I'm finding ALSA bus schedule has two buses listed Pamplona to SJPdP everyday until 2 November 2015. There would be no reason for ALSA to operate a bus from Roncesvalles to SJPdP ... it would start in Pamplona or San Sebastian (The buses from San Sebastian go via Biarritz or Pamplona).

Last year the schedule was extended from end September to beginning November and again to 7 December 2014. The schedule was updated about 30 days in advance ... no way to determine if that will be the case this year more than 30 days in advance.

Bus (www.monbus.es) or train (www.renfe.com) from Barcelona to Pamplona and bus (www.autocaresartieda.com) from Pamplona to Roncesvalles.

P.S.: I don't know your travel date but right now, the Alsa web shows buses from Pamplona to SJPP till Oct 10th.

Hi....thanks so much....I missed that for some reason. I plan to go early October so this will work great for me. Appreciate the help.

One other thing. ALSA operates buses from Barcelona Estacion Nord to Zaragosa and Zaragosa to Pamplona. (Probably because ViBasa (Monbus) operates the route from Barcelona Sants to Pamplona). CONDA (a subsidairy of ALSA) operates the route from Pamplona to SJPdP (and probably the route from Zaragosa to Pamplona) and posts its schedule on the ALSA site. You need to check the schedule for each leg separately.

Haven't decided if we want to take the train (most likely) or bus from Barcelona to Pamplona but good to know that we have options!
Thanks a lot.

What I'm trying to get across is the ALSA site likely won't produce a result if you ask for a schedule Barcelona to SJPdP.

Correct....I did do that earlier and got nothing so was a bit worried. Gotta get used to the multiple/competing bus companies in Spain!! Thanks.

Its not about multiple competing bus companies.

ALSA has schedules for Barcelona to Zaragosa, Zaragosa to Pamplona, and Pamplona to SJPdP. The website will not produce results if you ask it for a schedule from Barcelona to SJPdP or Barcelona to Pamplona.

CONDA (COMPAÑÍA NAVARRA DE AUTOBUSES, S.A.) is a flagship for the Navarra region (welcome to the politics of autonomous regions of Spain). It is owned by ALSA. So while the schedule is ALSA's the colours on the bus might be CONDA. The Pamplona bus station website doesn't even show ALSA as a service provider.

Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
