Yesterday, My son and I got a Pilgrim blessing from our local parish priest as we set out on out Camino next Friday. It is a great way to truly start your Camino "From your doorstep". The priest asked that we pray for the parish on the pilgrimage and at Santiago.

He is even going to use the parish seal on our credential to show we started from home!

I too received a blessing from my church last evening. It was very moving and a great image to carry with me as I complete my Camino

Good for you!

My son and I did the same at the daily Mass. Our parish only has an imprint seal, not an ink one, so the stamp is quite difficult to see, but priceless nonetheless.

Here in Sydney there is a church of St James right in the middle of the city centre :)

I don't know about a blessing but I have been told that I can get a stamp for my credencial from there before I leave Australia. I think this will be a nice way to start, so I am going to get a credencial from the Confraternity of St James (which I have joined) and take it there to get my first stamp shortly before I go.
