Time of past OR future Camino
I'll be walking the Camino on July 11th of 2019!
I checked the weather and it doesn't seem to be too cold, but is there anyone here with more experience that could recommend what you pack?

I'm particularly worried about not getting a nice enough coat that is both warm enough and gives great rain protection.

When I walked the Camino Frances my rain jacket didn't work at all which was unfortunate.

3rd Edition. Vital content training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

What’s your budget?

You can expect plenty of rain. Waterproof values and breathability are what will count. Warmth is added by layering. Three thin layers is better than one thick one and is readily adjustable

I would like to stay around $100 or $200.

I appreciate the advice.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I'm not sure if it would arrive in time, but you could order the Altus "poncho" from the Camino forum store. It will keep both you and your backpack dry.

@Tincatinker is right. Better to have several light layers, with your top layer being waterproof than one garment.

I’ve no idea of the American market but I wouldn’t expect to get much change out of £150 -£200 for a garment that would meet my requirements in the UK. @trecile ‘s suggested Altus will keep you dry, or dry-ish, and protect your backpack. Your investment should include your future plans. Buying expensive gear is only worthwhile if you’re going to use it. If you’re planning multiple Camino long term, or hiking some other interesting bits of this surprising planet then the investment is worthwhile. Otherwise get an umbrella and be prepared to be uncomfortable from time to time
