I was just reading this thread - 'an unholy year on the camino frances'

I will be adding to my list of gear: a small garden spade suitable for digging cat holes.

Yep, I'm bringing one too. But based on what others have said, I'm going with a metal one and not a nylon or plastic one because the soil and can be quite rocky and compacted in places.

I will be bringing one as well. It's the least I can do and the one I've been looking at is aluminum and only weighs 100g.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I found a 93g garden spade at walmart for 84 cents. Carried it on the Camino Portuguese, but fortunately my body cooperated and I didn't need it. But I was glad to know it was there.
