One of the Many reasons that I walk and love the Camino, Scotland in Galicia.

I love the Camino too but was very surprised to discover that they have even more rain in Galicia (in my experience) than we do here in Scotland.

Most definitely not! Beautiful Galloway in the South West is my home, beautiful even when it rains but definitely glorious when the sun shines.

I am sorry to continue on this weather point because I think that it may be of interest for some people planning to do the different Caminos.
In Galicia it doesn´t rain more than in Scotland.
According to Internet, in Scotland rains from 4500 mm (West Highlands) to 890 mm (East Lowlands), whereas in Galicia rains from 2000 mm (West mountains ) to 600 mm (South East).

Pelegrin, I deliberately added the phrase 'in my experience' and that was based on walking to SDC from SJPDP, and from Porto. Additionally, some parts of Galloway have a micro climate because of the Gulf Stream Drift, and we are in the lee of Ireland, unlike the West Highlands. I won't argue meteorological statistics, or argue at all. I love the rain in Galicia, after the heat of Portugal last year it was wonderful to be in the cooling downpours of that region. Rain is good it makes for lush green grass, productive fields and (sometimes, if it not too much) happy farmers. What Scotland has in abundance that, again only based on my own experience, the dreaded midges that can blight the beauty of many an early evening admiring a view.
And I am still so pleased that you posted the video, I have watched it many times now and it still delights.
