I have convinced myself that gaiters are just what I need for walking through the snow, slush, and white mud waiting for me on the Aubrac plateau next week. Israel is a land of little rainfall and less snow, gaiters are few and far between, ridiculously expensive, and of poor quality. Is there a sporting good store or one for camping equipment in Le Puy? Any recommended brand name suggested price? Our Teutonic brethren on the Camino Frances always seem to be equipped with high quality gamaschen is there a French brand? I really love to watch the snow falling, lovely whiteness fluttering down beyond the fireplace and the window pane as I sip my beverage of choice, the same stuff slipping into my boots is much less attreactive.
