From Valdediós to Gijón

Just wondering if anyone knows if there's a marked route from the Monastery of Valdediós back to the Norte and into Gijón. The last time I walked this way, I continued from Valdediós on to Pola de Siero and then into Oviedo. I may do that again, but I was wondering if anyone has taken the little detour past Villaviciosa (past Amandi, actually) to visit the pre-romanesque monastery at Valdediós and then gone back to the Norte without backtracking.

I remember reading somewhere that it can be done, but now of course I can't find it! Buen camino, Laurie

Don't know, sounds interesting.

We really enjoyed Gijón - one of those places with a bad reputation (industrial) that turned out to be one of our best stays. The people were so hospitable. We had a carnivore walking with us, and he was craving meat after all the (to me, fabulous) fish and seafood. We broached a table of elderly ladies sitting in the plaza - always my "Michelin guide" to the best eating places in town, and they recommended a restaurant that filled the bill perfectly. Accommodation was good and working towns have a bit of a vibe about them.
