I walked from Pamplona in a month and you shouldn't have a problem with either location! I personally would recommend not taking any buses thru any of it because the boring and not so pretty parts of the camino are part of the experience and reflects life itself!

I think the question is how to get from the Madrid airport to Pamplona. If so, I offer the following thoughts.

For my May 2016 Camino, I landed at the Madrid airport from the USA. I spent one night in Madrid to get over jet lag, but to make sure I could make an advance reservation on the fast train from Madrid and transfer to Pamplona. Then I stayed 2 more nights in Pamplona to sight see and totally get over jet lag.

The train from Madrid to Pamplona is very easy and very fast. There is a bus directly in front of the Pamplona train station that will take you to the heart of the city where most of the lodging is.

Pamplona on Friday and Saturday nights can be a bit of a wild party town in that it is loud and people are shouting in the streets until all hours of the early morning.

Enjoy!
