Thanks to those who devote so much feedback to this forum. You make this the great resource that it is. And now Falcon, as you approach your 3,000th comment, we await something profound to mark the occasion. Your advice and comments are spot on (well usually anyway). The pressure is on!

No pressure, Falcon. Another 3Ps comment - pithy, profound, persuasive. :)

Yes Falcon, what an achievement. I was wondering if I could ask you for some of that great advice. I am a young woman looking to walk the camino for any duration of time under two months. I really enjoy challenging hikes/walks and was I wondering if you might be able to give me some insight as to which routes would be best in terms of safety and challenge. I am physically fit, so what I mean by safety is really more specific to safety from crime. I am looking to walk the camino in the spring.

I am also happy to look at other sources such as guidebooks, websites or even other forum members if you have any recommendations.

Thank you.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Le-Puy-en-Velay to Santiago takes about 60 days. The Le Puy route is still my favorite, and the Camino Frances has the infrastructure and a large quantity of pilgrims so that you meet lots of people on stages that are easy to vary. France and Spain are so different that it is an interesting contrast. Whatever you decide to do, I am sure you will have fun if you just do it at your own pace. I have found that trying to fit a camino to a guidebook or another pilgrim adds a lot of stress. If you walk with someone else, be sure it will be OK to walk apart. Remember, even a three day gap is a quick taxi or bus ride away.

Yep, 3,000 is getting closer! I am betting that the post will be a bus schedule or blister comment!
