Hi!
Me and my friend are going to walk the North route, oviedo-santiago de compostela, from the middle of June to the middle of July. Now, since this will be our first walk on the Norte, we don't know what kind of footwear is needed. Should we get hold of heavy duty hiking footwear, or can we manage with sandals and some good sneakers? My friend has problems with her knees and back, so we don't want to risk anything, health-wise.
And our other question relates to food. Since we want to do this as inexpensive as possible, we're planning to bring a hiking stove with us, rather than having to eat at restaurants. The problem, however, is that we can't bring the fuel with us on the airplane, since it's highly flammable. Does anyone know where we can get hold of fuel? Or should we skip it and buy food that doesn't have to be cooked?
Thanks for your replies!
