I just booked a flight to Lisbon on October 4th... Camino #2 here we go!!!!! My friend and I were having a little trouble deciding whether or not to do the CF or try out the CP. I think we're gonna go for the CP!

I just have one question. On the CF, I didn't bring a sleeping bag, and ended up regretting it as most of the albergues I stayed in didn't offer blankets. So I bought just a small one. Do I need a sleeping bag for the CP? We will be starting in Coimbra on October 11th or 12th possibly. Do the albergues from Coimbra offer sleeping blankets? I really want to go as lightweight as possible and don't mind sleeping in extra layers and a blanket, I just want to be warm at night, and maybe I'll be able to sleep this Camino! lol.

Anyways, any advice is appreciated. :)

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
What do you think would be different about CP from CF that would preclude you from taking a sleeping bag? Do you have evidence of that difference?

Don't bring a sleepingbag on the caminho Português. No need for that.
The albergues are slightly different to the ones you were used to on the Frances.
Specially on the trail from Coimbra they are more like hostals.

Once we met an albergue with no blankets in the north of Spain but that was not on the Portuguese caminho. We slept in our fleecevests for one time. No bother.

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
I would not walk towards Galicia in October without a sleeping bag. Last September I did have one pretty cold night on the CP even with a lightweight sleeping bag. It just isn't worth it to me for a 1-2lb savings.
