Greetings Pilgrims,
I'm new to the Forum, my Appalachian Trail name is Tao. We'll be beginning our Pilgrimage in August starting with the Camino de Frances and finishing with the Camino Finisterre. Considering renting a car in Fisterra and driving to Madrid. Thus far, haven't come across any car rental agencies in Fisterra. Interested in if anyone knows if this is a possibility or where would be the nearest place to rent. Much Appreciated and Happy Trails, Tao

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

You'd probably do better to catch a bus to Santiago and rent a car from the airport - car hire is much cheaper from airports in Spain and you could drop off at Madrid airport without paying much extra. Make sure you have an international driver's licence, obtainable for a small fee from your national automobile association.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Try calling Autoeurope and Europcar, and tell them what you want to do. I have gotten tremendously cheap rates with them in England, France, Greece and Czech Rep---in the neighborhood of $20 per day from top rental agencies like Hertz, National and Avis, and that included the minimal insurance required in some cases. Greece and Czech I did not have to buy any insurance as liability was included in the rental. My pick ups and returns were always different locations, and not always at the airport. Last time I rented from them was 2019, and one caveat was that I had to book my rental BEFORE arriving.
