Ultreia!
Time of past OR future Camino
CF 2015, CF 2018, Primitivo 2019, CF 2022
I just wanted to take a moment and share my experiences and observations with this forum.

I found this forum a few years ago when I began to consider time on the Camino. At first I was amazed at the amount of information and advice in threads. It was overwhelming, much like the task of preparing for a Camino feels. But now I see a community of fantastic people, unlike any other on the Internet.

I am still surprised with my experiences and observations. People are continually friendly, helpful, gracious, and patient with one another even when the question has been asked before 100 times or if the answer seems obvious to everyone else. The times when folks are not kind to someone, another forum member is quick to encourage kindness and a gentle hand.

I find this behavior rare when it comes to the Internet and a collective of people in general. In some ways, it restores my faith in the way peopel live amongst one another. I mostly feel gratitude. When I take my first step on the Camino next year, I will do it feeling like I am part of a community I already understand and feel proud.

Thanks everyone!

;) Well, we're not really. There seems to be something though, that keeps us in check (somewhat) and humanity moving forward. Living in hope.
:) I think what Rebheka was referring to is that the forum has some general rules and if a member continually break those rules the member will be banned.

Great post Nomad Peah.
The forum do have a special wibe imo.

On the Camino, the "Golden Rule" does... RULE!

We experienced pilgrims try to always accord each other, and indeed all persons we meet everyday and in every way, the respect, consideration, patience, generosity, assistance and charity we would want them to accord us.

It IS that simple!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I look forward to meeting more friendly fellow pilgrims when I walk the quiet Ruta del Ebro in May :)
My thanks to Nomad Peah for the kind words, and to the team who run this super forum.
Buen camino! Oh! And "Happy Christmas"!!

What a super video! So applicable to us peregrinos!
Re friendly pilgrims -- I have never met an UNFRIENDLY one. Aren't I lucky!
I hope you have a super Christmas, Albertinho ... and your missus! [Now there's a good old English word for you!] And it would be great if our paths crossed again.

Best regards from this side of the Channel that divides us .

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Sorry my friend - the 2015 plan is the Ruta del Ebro - from the Mediterranean up to Logrono. No Santiago this year!
[My spell-check just told me to replace Logrono with "Log rolling" !! :D ]

Which is the Grand Café please? We have usually used the Dakar, opposite the main Correos, but like to know more about other places forum members are meeting at.

Valeria. It is café de Casino, Rua Vilar no.35. Great atmosphere. Free wifi. Reasonable food
Coming out the pilgrims office turn to the left. about 50 meters further on at your left side. Close to the tourist office.
Best regards

Albertinho

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
And now back to NomadPeah, LOL, you have hit the nail on the head, I too really enjoy just perusing this site and reading and looking at all the posted pics , and to add to Julio Gone's post, some of us are here, to live through others of a Camino that we may never get to do.......

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Hi nomadpeah - when you do your Camino next year I hope that you will meet other Forum members on The Way. It's such a special feeling meeting other Forum members whose posts you've admired and enjoyed. Check the calendar to see who's going to be on the CF next year when you are, and maybe buy a Forum Member badge from Ivar's online shop so you're easily identifiable to other Forum members. I've had the opportunity to meet many Forum members now - here in Sydney, in the UK, on the Camino and in Santiago itself - the experience of spending time with fellow Forum members is precious and those experiences will stay with you once you're back home and see the posts of those you've met - it's an amazing connection. And lastly, a visit to Ivar at his office is a must! It is such a privilege to meet the person who created our wonderful Camino community of support and goodwill.
