Oliver Kahn to tackle Santiago pilgrim challenge

By: ThinkSpain

Former international stopper, Oliver Kahn, has surprised many by revealing his intention to walk the Camino de Santiago when he retires from professional foootball.

The 37 year old veteran, whose current contract with Bayern Munich expires at the end of next season, said during a recent interview on the N24 private TV channel, that he is a "big believer in God, and I've thought about doing it for a long time, but until now, it has been impossible owing to my footballing commitments."

'King Kahn' announced his retirement from international football during last summer's World Cup, which he mostly spent on the bench except for the consolation play-off against the other losing semi-finalists, Portugal.
