I notice that there is a "European Pilgrim Relay " taking place. By CSJ members. It's on the Home Page.
It sounds identical to a sporting event and is being 'done' by 23 people, who are in the Chartres area at the moment. With such a large group, this relay team may wreak havoc in refugios/gites d'etapes, if that's what is being used for accommodation.
Is it possible, do you think, that one day the Camino could become an Olympic event, where there are winners and losers, who are separated by hundredths of a second? Commerce and competition have corrupted so much of life so this is surely possible.
I wonder how the compostelana will be used for a relay team.
It's so......new. A pilgrim relay..........
