eSim on iPhone in France?

Time of past OR future Camino
next Camino is May 3 2023, beginning in Le Puy
I've read some great information about eSim cards in Spain for Androids. I just bought an iPhone 13 and will be in France for a Camino in May and part of June. My carrier (Verizon) can sell me a travel pass for a month or day by day but that's pretty costly. Any suggestions?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I am not quite sure I understand the issue, I have an iPhone 13 with an esim card from T-Mobile and I am now living in Portugal permanently and have replaced it with a sim from the provider MEO. I have had great service from both providers for the past six months, my primary service being MEO and my secondary being T-Mobile. Unfortunately, T-Mobile is cancelling my service and my US number next month because I live in Portugal.

Thanks much. I'll keep looking into this - likely there is a good provider in France (Orange, I think) that I can work with.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Purchase Orange Holiday Zen ESim now and install if you own the iPhone 13, as it must be unlocked. Register it so you can top off after 2 weeks. When you arrive in France you then turn it on. You can switch over to your other line when you have wifi available so you don’t need the Verizon travel plan.

Thanks for this tip. I had heard about using Orange but never have. Will do some investigation - this looks like a good plan and using the Verizon plan is just not fun.

Did the same thing last year and it worked great.

We would also recommend an eSim, assuming your phone is unlocked (or you can get it unlocked). Our last couple trips to Europe we've been using KeepGo eSIMs - you just put in the countries you're visiting and it will give you package options. Pisces is the one we've had - $14/23 for 5/10GB. Good for a whole year too in case you're returning.
