Help please. We have arrived in San Sebastian and all Albergues and hostels are full. What are our options to find accomodation. Thank you!

Lots of places in bilbao. ? Bus there for the night. Hopefully tourist info will help
 
High tourist season on that part of the Norte. San Sabastian and a couple of other spots are hugely popular with tourist....and if you are there now you can easily see why.
 
Drop by a tourist information office.
Many people "rent rooms" and do list with local office or just walk around and look for a sign (typically in German "zimmer ..."

San Sebastian is a major destination for all of Europe and finding anything for under €40 will be a bonus.

You may try looking south of there rather than just west. You can always return to the spot you took a ride from.

If forced to spend more than you hope for maybe try and make the most of it...... laundry in the sink, maybe two showers... sleep in?
 
Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
We encountered the same problem when we passed San Sebastian in 2014, the tourist office sorted us out.

There is always plenty of accommodation around, I walked in the summer and we heard rumours that towns were booked out, yes the public albergue were full, but there was plenty of accommodation in a 3km radius of the town.
 
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
It is too late to help Patchnomad, but I don’t think there is an “albergue” that pilgrims know of in San Sebastián or Bilbao. There might be other lower-cost lodging available.

I passed by the city twice. The first time I stayed in a donation-based religious group run housing in the mountain just before descending to the city, and the second time in a hotel in the city. The city’s old section is well known for excellent pintxos so if you happened to stay in San Sebastián, don’t miss the opportunity.
