I will be starting the CF in Astorga around March 9, 2025. Will there be albergues open at this time of year before Sarria? Should I pre-book, will I potentially have longer days to get to larger towns for accommodation? How many pilgrims should I expect to see? Any input on this section at this time of year would be a great help. Thank you in advance.

I am fairly prepared for the cold and rain... I hope. I did walk from Pamplona to Logrono in late March of 2019 and it was very nice, lucky I suppose with the mild temps. I do live at 9000ft so I am accustomed to the cold and even snow. More wondering about how slow I can expect it to be and if things will be open and accessible.
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
It’ll be cool and possibly damp, but otherwise excellent. There will be plenty of accommodation in relation to the numbers walking. More than enough places to stay, eat and drink will be open.
Research guide books and buy and use one. For accommodations and route, my favorite is Miam Miam Dodo for the CF and the four routes thru France, but they are in French. Revised yearly.
I know I saw some discussion on this topic a few weeks ago, but I can't find it - so sorry if this is repetitive.
We're likely to get into Paris at the end of April/beginning of May. If we just...
Hi again,
I am reworking our Camino for next June. Instead of starting in Sarria, I think my husband and I will start in Burgos and end in Astorga, then we will take a bus or train from Astorga...
This may be a silly question but can someone explain the 'community dinner' in albergues.
Does it mean the food is provided by the albergue owners/staff and if so is the cost included in the...
Heard such wonderful things about this experience, would really love to stay here. I've heard they don't turn anyone away, but thought I'd be proactive if I could. I know it's a Donativo, so...
