As the US Dollar sinks and the Euro climbs, I"m wondering if I shouldn't buy some Euros here before they go higher. I've always used the ATM, but if things continue, that could wipe me out.

Does anyone know how many Euros one can travel INTO Europe with?
Is there a limit?

"You may bring into or take out of the country, including by mail, as much money as you wish. However, if it is more than $10,000, you will need to report it to CBP. Ask the CBP officer for the Currency Reporting Form (FinCen 105)".

The money can be in any currency.

Just a footnote on the dollar to euro exchange. We happened to have $300 dollars in notes with us, which we thought that we could easily change in any bank. Not so... There was a required 24 hour wait to be able to collect the equivelant in euros. Of course this is not at all practical when one is walking and moving on. It took us until Leon, before we managed to change them in a friendly bank.Anne
