Discover the Fabulous Dining Room at Circulo de la Union in Burgos

Too many and too often!
I am not usually given to posting restaurant reviews but I have just had the extraordinary experience of eating lunch in the dining room of the Circulo de la Unión in Burgos. On the Paseo del Espolón just a couple of minutes from the cathedral and the municipal albergue. The food and wine were good but not particularly impressive in themselves. Well worth the modest €14 though. What struck me particularly was the grandiose building itself - a riot of multicoloured marble, wood, brass and gilt from the earlier part of the twentieth century. For such a pricey part of town lunch there seemed a very modest extravagance!

Thank you for this post and the photos. Lots of "eye candy" in your interior shot. The chairs are way cool. Yes, a meal here sounds like a worthwhile experience.

I ate outside in September - really “stumbled” upon this place. I was awed by the building and the bathroom was fantastic! I thought for 14 Euros - the full bottle of white wine was superb!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Good find, Bradypus. By the way, I just noticed your tagline "Migratory hermit", obviously reflecting your preference for avoiding "crowds".

I've eaten outside here but never went into the building.
Thanks for the tip!
I'll stop again in April.
