Planning to walk Ferrol to Santiago Sept. 2016. NERVOUS!
Hello to everyone!

I am preparing for my first Camino experience. I'm a middle-aged woman walking Ferrol to Santiago alone in mid-September. Excited and nervous!

I have many questions and I am finding the forums quite helpful.

My question is this - I have an extremely restricted diet (religious, not health), which means that I will be carrying most of my food for the week with me.

One idea I had - and perhaps you can tell me if it seems feasible: Do albergues/hostels have stove burners that can be used? I could I carry my own frying pan and along the way purchase two eggs in the evening. This would make a nice addition to my current options.

Thank you for any help or ideas you might be able to offer with this. Otherwise it will be a long week of tuna and granola bars.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi and welcome,

On the Ingles I only stayed in one albergue , the one in Bruma and they had pots and pans yes.
I must say though that the Xunta albergues in Galicia are known for their good quality kitchens like stove and cupboards but lacking in utensils. Fear of stealing the stuff?

I know that the albergue at Pontedeurme did not have a kitchen when I walked two years ago, but there were kitchens elsewhere. Try www.gronze.com. It has good information on the accommodation available including whether there is a kitchen. It is in Spanish, so you might want to use a browser that automatically translates.
