Time of past OR future Camino

Hello,
Has anybody experienced difficulty with rented bike fitting? My height was emailed to the supplier on ordering rented bikes months before my Camino. The bike was a small size same size as my bike at home but is a trail bike with bars across.I cannot cycle it

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Can I ask how much the bike rental is? We brought our bicycles from Dublin in 2022 and is was very easy.

Sorry to hear that. Perhaps a bit late but might it be worth trying to rent from another company? There were quite a few options from Porto when I was thinking about starting there.

The last time I cycled a Camino was back in 2010 and the bike was very heavy and not as advertised! This time I’ll be renting a mountain / trail bike from Lisbon from this Saturday which is actually perfect for the hills I’ll be going over.

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.

I’m getting mine for €400 over a fortnight on a special deal - that includes transport back to Lisbon. It was less than that from Porto €285. I know it’s cheaper to have flown with my bike but I goosed up the front disc brakes putting the front wheel back on coming back from Clare a few months back. So I don’t have much confidence with newer brake systems than I grew up with

400 for fortnight seems a bit steep. I bought a cheap Rockrider in Decathlon and sold it in Santiago on Wallapop, very easy and you can get it set up to suit you.

I'm sorry,I cannot answer your question re cost of Rental.I don't know the cost as we booked our Porteguese cycling Camino through a Dublin based Camino travel company and they arranged bike rental. So all our problems with suppliers of services must be directed back to the Company we booked our Camino with. Its nearly a week now since we started the Camino & we handed back the totally unsuitable bikes on the first day & haven't got replacement bikes yet.We get apologies through email & also saying they are working hard to get replacement bikes for us.We are moving every day onto our nxt accomodation by walking (not easy when we have packed walking gear) bus & train. Its so so disappointing.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Ah darn - thanks for the suggestion I’ll try that best time.

Another option to consider is to buy a cheap(ish) bike in Decathlon or even on Facebook Marketplace. I'd definitely consider that if I was doing it again.
