Can anyone help me with cycling this part of the Camino, I thought it would be straight forward but I read earlier that it is not so easy if you are not a good cyclist. I cycle a little and my daughter less and her friends don't cycle much will this be possible and will it be fun? Anyone any ideas or should we walk from tui instead? Thanks
Marianne

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
There are a few climbs on the waymarked central route that I would only recommend to relatively experienced mountain bikers. But from studying maps, you could probably plan ahead and take minor detours on the roads.
I shot this video of myself breathing heavily and mocking myself in Danish as I was nearing the top on one of these climbs (out of Ponte de Lima: about 400 meter climb over a few kilometers) ... Feel free to laugh - I did :)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Some might feel that some 140k would be a breeze for inexperienced cyclists on foreign roads and rough trails, others might disagree. I understand that it is a lovely walk from Tui.

I am an overweight 53 year old man and I walked from Porto to Santiago in 7 days in February. I would imagine that even a relatively inexperienced cyclist could cover the same distance in 6 days. Most of the route was on minor roads and tracks very suitable for a mountain bike. There were some sections which I would not choose to cycle but I think that these could be easily bypassed.
