Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
Fascinating, but you don't need boots on the Camino unless you are walking in snow season.

Fascinating, but you don't need boots on the Camino, imo.
Our first Camino was from SJPDP and we definitely needed our hiking boots we walk in snow for the first ten days then rain ,sleet and mud for the majority of the rest of the way. otherwise we have worn our trail runners. about ten days of clear weather out of the 25 days. I would do it again!

I suppose on a Camino with snow they would be good, but 99% of the pilgrims don't walk in winter.
I'll edit my comment. :)

Very interesting, particularly the first 10 minutes or so, which show one technique for making custom orthotics, which many of us use in our mass-produced shoes.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
