Thanks for the entertaining blog, I am now eagerly awaiting it when I fire the computer up every morning. So, 21 miles one day and then 22 miles the next, you are a better man than me, I needed a day off in Ponte de Lima and then only did the 11 miles after that. Hope you enjoy the camino as much as I did.
Buen Camino.

Have enjoyed reding your blog. I would recommend the albergue at Portela, near the village of San Amaro, bed 6 euros and dinner for 7 euros. Was there ten days ago, excellent welcome by charming hospitalero, lovely garden and nice lounge dining area. It was full the night I stayed so it might be as well to book ahead if you want to stay there

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Thank for you for your kind comments. September should be good time. I am walking to raise money for my local hospice and I have to be back in the UK by 14/6 to do some photography for them. Song have to get a move on.

Great time to travel. I did the CF in September and the temp. Never dropped below 30 C. For the three weeks it took me. Should be cooler here though. Now in Pontevedra and will arrive Santiago Tuesday where I have list of people to light candles for. Good luck to you

Hi magwood, sadly I got to Pontevedra before I got your post. But thank you, it was kind of you to pass on your advice, hopefully, others will see it and take advantage. I will be posting a video I am making of the trip which should be up on you tube next week. I'll post a link on the forum.
Best wishes

Hi john, thanks for your kind remarks, I really am enjoying it very much. The thing is, you see, at 67 I'm getting on a bit so I have to cram in as much as I can. We are all, inexorably, moving up life's conveyor belt and I suspect I'm a little closer to being tipped off the end than you are. I will be posting a video on you tube next week so look out for the link here.
Take care. Roger.

We too are enjoying your blog. Might you be able to make the 'Camigos' in south Devon meeting? It would be good to meet you. Light a candle for us too please as we could not walk this year.
Buen Camino

Tia, I will certainly try to get to the meeting and I will be honoured to light a candle for you.
Best wishes

Windswept, I'll be 65 when I start my Caminho in Sept. 2014 has not been a good year health wise and for the first time in our 39 year marriage my wife has seen me vulnerable. Still, I see old age a being subjective and refuse to let it stop me. I'm like Peter Pan, I refuse to grow up! If you think your old you will act and look old.
Older trekkers have a big advantage over the young ones, we have learned to take the time to not only see the roses but to smell the roses. I like to think that older trekkers like us are a inspiration to the younger trekkers. I'm don't see myself getting slower, I'm taking more time seeing the country and to getting to know the people I meet. Buen Camino Tony

Your last blog post had a selfie of a knee with a knee replacement scar on it. If it's you, I take my hat off to you. Keep On Trekking!

I'm enjoying your daily posts and looking forward to following in your footsteps in September. You may not be inspiring me to walk but you are making me think about setting up a blog.

Hi, yes that's me. I ruptured the quadriceps last year quite badly and have been left with a bit of a limp after it was stitched back onto my kneecap. I have been unable to bend the knee correctly ever since. It is particularly painful going down hill and at the end of the day I am glad to get some cold water on it. But I'll get there and I will be smiling when I do.

Hi Michael, do the blog, it's really good fun and makes you see the things you might otherwise miss. People make great subjects to write about. Like me, they are always getting into scrapes. I am also putting together a video as I go along which I hope to post a link to next week. Very good luck with your trek.

I jut read your last 2 posts on you journey and, like all the others, really enjoyed your observations and experiences :). Do the Camino Ingles. I walked it last year. Met a lot of real nice, no, fantastic people, locals and pilgrims. Johnny Walker, that's the bald guy in the picture, has a great and accurate free guide that you can get through the forum :D. However, Johnny does have some funny ideas about what he calls gently rolling hills o_O.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Thanks, Tony, I have a friend who was told to expect not to live past this September. He is now against all the odds in unexpected remission. My greatest wish us that I can walk this route with him next year.

Nice route very little commercial walking. Last 2 days 20 miles and almost 20 miles. If you're interested, I still want to do the French Camino. Tony

Thanks, Tony. When I did the French camino three years ago in September I found it very crowded. Managed a bed most nights thought without difficulty. I understand from others it has got even more crowded although those currently walking it will have a better idea of what's what.

That's very kind of you. Who knows, one day our trails may cross and we can while away the time in some good old fashion conversation. Until then, look after yourself.
