Walked the Camino Frances 26th April to June 1st 2013
I know the weather is not a constant but I am leaving on 25th April and wondered if the heavy snow has gone from the Pyrenees and if it is at least getting a bit mider. Thanks

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
If you are walking in Galicia, its the Cebreiro snows you need to worry about, not the Pyrenees - and the rain. It has been exceptionally cold in Galicia and the heavy rain is playing havoc with the paths. Rivers have flooded, paths are closed, Barbedello almost impassable, Rio Loyo in flood, Rio Sarria roaring, and more forecast.
When the Belesar reservoir above Portomarin is full (created in the 1960s) there are usually four steps exposed at the end of the bridge at Portomarin. Apparently today only three are visible and the water is rising.

In Cebreiro now. Very wet but no snow anywhere but on distant peaks. Not nearly as cold as on the meseta a few days ago. 10c today. Paths muddy and wet. Pilgrims muddy and wet. All paths so far are passable. Weather looks to be improving in next few days according to the locals.
