Crossing the Río Pas by train (Boo de Piélagos to Mogro( - Boo de Piélagos, Rio Pas

After leaving Santander you will reach the Rio Pas at Boo de Piélagos. You can follow the riverbank to the next bridge at Arce to Oruña -which is a roughly 10km detour or use the FEVE narrow gauge train. The two stops Boo and Mogro are just 2 minutes on the train (short before and after the bridge). Tickets can be purchased at the vending machine at the platform (May 2017: 2 zones, €1.65). I could not get a confirmation, but I heard rumours that the crossing would be free for pilgrims.

Thoroughly agree with this advice. There are about 4 trains per hour (both directions) and in my humble opinion crossing by the bridge is a pretty risky option. Far easier to get on the train at Boo and get off at Mogro. Nice albergue by the station in Boo where you can get a drink and excellent Bar and Restaurant in Mogro. Ticket machine at Boo was not working. We had our money ready but no conductor appeared whilst we were on the train so our short journey resulted in a free ride :-)
