Credentials

One question, is it necessary to use a credential on caminos. A compostela is not real important for me.

It depends where you want to stay. Some albergues will only take you if you have a credential.

And sometimes it is required if you’d like to partake of the Pilgrim Meal at a restaurant.

Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

If you are not walking as a pilgrim, don't want to use xunta, municipal, parochial or association albergues and don't want to have one or other of the certificates acknowledging your camino, then the credential is unnecessary. Otherwise, you will need one, and the sellos you collect will form a wonderful record of your journey, and remind you for years to come of the places where you ate, drank and slept.

That’s the most important point: get the credential if you are a pilgrim, otherwise no need for it.
